The punk rock 'n' roll band from Como, Italy, led by singer and band founder Rob Slut, has been around since 1995. Their first release was a 10" split that came out the same year, which they shared with the well-known Humpers from the USA. This was followed by several 7" releases (including a split EP with the TV Killers) and another 10" of their own titled "Bad news never comes alone".
Their release from last year is not new material but rather a selection of tracks recorded between 1995 and 2010 with the various lineups of the band during those years.
All the songs have been remastered and compiled into this collection. The only previously unreleased song on it is "No Condition Go," which is the first track on the CD.
With the 15 songs included on the CD, the band offers nothing less than pure punk rock with a hefty dose of rock 'n' roll that makes many representatives of this genre pale in comparison. Catchy hooklines and gang vocals with high recognition value characterize a large part of the songs. Even in the uptempo numbers, this line is never lost.
The only minor downside is the occasionally noticeable different sound of the songs from one another. This is likely due to the varying recording sounds from the original analog studio tapes on one side and the digital recording sessions from later days.
I have experienced the Temporal Sluts live several times at joint concerts, and it is definitely worth it. While the band is already highly enjoyable on record, they really kick it up a notch live.
Anyone who doesn't know the Temporal Sluts and enjoys straight, energetic punk rock 'n' roll should definitely give them a listen....
