Holy shit..... What an awesome German punk/hardcore album from an unknown band from Ibbenbüren/Osnabrück, featuring three well-known musicians from both cities. While the first SCHRAPPMESSER E.P. "The Shape of Punk to Come" was still sung in Plattdeutsch (!), almost all the lyrics are now in High German! That's better! And there are also great interludes between the tracks, thumbs up!
Lyrically, everything that falls through the cracks of DONOTS and WATERDOWN is mixed here. The album creates a party atmosphere, often with the help of good old alcohol. These are the true party hits that are sung loudly at every party; the more alcohol, the more fun! Because: "Everything rhymes with drinking, for example, beer!" that's also the title of the song where this truism can be heard.
Before the "fun" comes "battle cries"; fittingly, there's a "Legal, illegal, doesn't matter" in "Scheissegaler" and an "A.C.A.B." in - surprise - "A.C.A.B. (All Cups are Beer Cups)". Interestingly, SLIME was never featured on a "Schlachtrufe BRD" sampler!
And as life goes, we are all overqualified (so so), and therefore SCHRAPPMESSER singer Ingo Donots can't find a job, not even at the church. Wonderful lyrics! Wonderful music! Always powerfully in your face....
Another example, "Kick es". Here, the Kiel hardcore punk rock formation SMOKE BLOW clearly served as inspiration. The song "kicks ass" so much that I wouldn't want to be a leather ball.
Speaking of leather... The album is only available on vinyl. Yes, that's that big black disc. Since the binge-drinking, squatting youth nowadays don't have a turntable anymore (which is also impractical during a possible hasty retreat at 1.7 per mille), the record also comes with a download code.
After the 14 party hits, a nature experience from the Münsterland concludes the album. A 20-minute live recording from Oppa Knollmann's farm, introduced by Sir Bela B. But even I, coming from the countryside (though not from the Münsterland *yuck*, but from Lipperland), couldn't fully take in these 20 minutes. This is really farmer hardcore! But at least I could identify all the animal sounds; I only failed miserably at the bird songs (is there a solution somewhere?).
P.S. The 12" record is limited to only 500 copies, so you better hurry up.
