It is much easier to tear apart a terrible album than to honor a brilliant one properly. Therefore, I have been thinking for weeks about how to praise the third album of the Tübingen band! "One Million Suns" deserves more than just excellent, more than just grand, more than excellent! It is simply THE album of the year 2014, and it will be nearly impossible to top this album, which is also available on vinyl....
I expressed something similar back in 2010 when THE SAVANTS blew me away with their second album "Mosquito Sunrise." Four years later, the four guys are now presenting 18 new songs for their 10th anniversary. No, 18 new hits! 18 new number one hits!!! Every song, whether in English or German (approximately 2/3 to 1/3), is simply amazing. They manage to keep boredom at bay in all 18 songs by incorporating ska, metal, hardcore, and pop elements into their elegant melodic punk rock. And thus, they will break the hearts of all WIZO, PENNYWISE, NO USE FOR A NAME, and RANCID lovers. At least, that’s what I can hear in the 18 songs. Moreover, there are even brief moments of SEPULTURA-Roots and THOMAS D.-rap to be heard.
They also incorporate brass sections, piano sounds, and a kazoo, which makes the songs even fuller and cooler during the tight 3/4 hour playtime!

It doesn’t get any better than this, does it???
Full marks, even though I don’t have the booklet and the lyrics, which would normally warrant point deductions. But I can’t do that; any deduction would be unjustified for this album of the year.
So, the full 10 points for this masterpiece!
