Picke-Packe-Voll would be what Arnd Zeigler would say in his "Zeigler's Wonderful World of Football", only that this sampler is not about football but about the AFD and everything that is in its vicinity. And with 74 minutes of playtime against fascism, Nazis, AFD, and this crap, this sampler is indeed Picke-Packe-Voll, although not all bands are included with songs against the right; it also touches on religion, cops, touring life, etc., and both well-known and unknown bands take turns, although I must admit that I am getting less and less from the punk rock scene year by year, and yet one can recognize some artists “blindly.” For example, Wilde Zeiten “Blau am Meer,” you recognize that song immediately, it’s already...... old...... whatever....
Furthermore, Normahl, Drunken Swallows, and Vulture Culture are included, everyone knows them by heart....
I have also heard of Piratenpapst, Band ohne Anspruch, Kreftich, Champagner Punx, Fehl-Tritt (have they always been spelled like that?) and the nice guys next door....
And then there are countless, unknown to me, bands like Krimi, 20 Liter Youghurt, Freidenkeralarm, Thore Wittenberg, Das frivole Burgfräulein, Marx, Subversiv, Herzblut, Unfaded, Civil Courage, Das Niwo, Contra Riot, Ghostbastardz, and Harte Worte.
All in all, punk rock, sometimes more melodic, sometimes clubbing, sometimes ufta-ufta, sometimes hardcore, and sometimes pop-punk.... Punk rock indeed...
Who has been counting? Yes, there are 24 bands, not all to my taste, but many... Surprisingly many, perhaps also because the sound on this CD is really good, and what terrible sound quality I have had with some samplers.... That is not the case here, good!
But even with the 3-4 bands that I don’t like that much, this sampler against the right must be had, not only because of the many (partly unknown, often worth discovering) bands, but also because the proceeds (I estimate around 5€) go to the organization “Kein Bock auf Nazis”! By the way, informational material from the organization is also included with the CD, which can be ordered for 6,-€ (+ 2,-€ shipping) at the address mentioned above.
Unfortunately, there are also 2½ negative things to report about this sampler.
1. There is 0 material from/about the bands included
2. The tracklist is written sooooo small on the back that I can hardly read the band names and songs (only in the light with squinted eyes, and I have good eyes, said the company doctor!)
2½. There are no numbers before the tracklist, so if I like track 17, I have to count through first (with the small font (-size 3 ???).... Ahhh => Herzblut
Yes, I am a => nitpicker, but now buy this CD already, quick quick....
