As always, Dr. Ring Ding is absolutely right! Especially in these difficult times.
After five years, Dr. Ring Ding is releasing a new album.
Dr. Ring Ding has gathered a new band around him and recorded the album “The Remedy“ with them and some guests.
Guests include Sister Gracy from Jamaica, Tippa Irie (American jazz singer), Michael von der Heide (Swiss singer), and Stephanie K.
When you record a new album after so many years, you don’t hold back, and this album features 17 (!) songs that offer over an hour (!) of full content.
The full content means a lot of reggae, 2-Tone, dancehall, dub, cumbia, Caribbean sounds, ska, and boss reggae from Dr. Ring Ding.
If you think that the name Dr. Ring Ding always fits, you are right!

Every song fits.
Every arrangement is excellent.
The instruments and vocals are perfectly placed, so nothing should stand in the way of a lovely dance evening. However, since we are living in times of Corona, that unfortunately has to wait a bit longer. First concerts are announced for the end of the year and for next year. The master from Münster will play at the Ska Festival in Rosslau in 2021, if it hopefully takes place.
I could stop here. Everything has been said about this great album. That would be fine, but somehow I haven’t written many lines here, so I want to add a few more lines to what I have written.
Dr. Ring Ding is THE ska-reggae-and dancehall master from Germany.
No one can match him.
No one has been around as long.
No one can do so much so well.
It’s not just that the Münster native is out there with his own band or solo and has various performances. He has also been a singer with The Busters for several years. He has given this band something with his musical and vocal influences that they didn’t have until now.
Dr. Ring Ding has a voice that you wouldn’t expect from someone from Westphalia, or rather from this region. Volume, warmth, rhythm, beat, and just a hell of a lot of groove. You can hear that on this album as well.
Of course, Dr. Ring Ding also has a knack for good musicians, and the songs on “The Remedy“ sound as if he has been playing with this band forever.
In these tough times, it is nice, even beautiful, to listen to an album that has so much and takes you into a lovely world for over an hour, full of dance, poetry, and relaxation.
