All good things come in threes.
That's how one might put it for “Our Night Out“ by BUSTER SHUFFLE.
After the debut album of the English band was first released on Working Week Records, it was shortly thereafter re-released by People like You Records, and now, on December 18, 2020, the good piece will be remastered and released again on the band's own label, Do Nothing Records.
Now they are taking care of their debut album themselves, which at the time stirred up quite a bit of dust.
BUSTER SHUFFLE have quickly won many hearts with “Our Night Out“. The band has created a unique mixture of ska, punk, pop, and rock, which they first presented ten years ago. Followed by massive touring, which transformed a shy band into a confident group ready to showcase their music.
By now, the band is a staple on stages across Europe and also among the DJs who played for dancing and hopefully will again soon.
In addition to the eleven well-known songs from the initial release, the band has included two new songs as bonuses on the re-release.
Since there is already a review of “Our Night Out“ on ramtatta.de, the link to the review is this https://www.ramtatta.de/s/reviews/f/details/id/3700/, I would like to focus only on the two new songs from the band from England.
The first one is “Don´t sign up today“. A piano melody carries the song, which Jethor “Jet“ Baker sings in his own unique style. Very English, classic, pleasant. The song can be placed somewhere between ska-pop and radio-friendly indie sound. It flows casually, fluffily, and pleasantly, in true BUSTER SHUFFLE style.
The second song is “In the Name of what“. This song is almost carried by Baker's voice. A simple keyboard play, at least it gives a simple impression, but perhaps it is also an incredibly complicated melody, paired with a slightly driving but not rushing drumming, this song is a bit edgier, because it’s quirkier than the previous song. It is exactly this kind of edginess that defines the band. It is exactly what I, as far as I know, also connects other people with the old English school. A sound that evokes this old school because it conjures up the images one knows from England in the 60s and 70s.
Anyone who does not yet own “Our Night Out“ should definitely grab it here. There are also packages available with a T-shirt.
Unfortunately, the colored vinyl seems to be sold out already.
