Alright, I can still write a few lines.
The new album consists of ten songs and is called “Double Album”.
Simple album, double the fun?!?
The songs, as always, deal with the small and big things happening in the world, things that have happened, and those that the band has experienced. These are the wonderful melodies that seemingly only Fat Mike can write all over the wide world. They are the melodies that you always recognize and immediately know “This is NOFX!”. It starts with the wonderful punk rock song “Darby Crashing your party” and doesn’t stop with the wonderful humor found in “Fuck day Six”.
There is a love declaration to the head of Destiny Tourbooking from Berlin, who has always taken care of the band in Europe. His real name is David Pollack. However, in NOFX he is called “Alcopollack”. A wonderful song and probably the greatest love declaration a band can make to a booker, tour manager, and friend.
Fat Mike has also written very personal lines on this album to process a piece of his childhood, his life, in “Three against me”. The father, the mother, and the brother against him. A sad text, a moving text that especially in the lines
It’s called tough love and accepted by the neighbors
It’s not called a hate crime, it’s just what my brothers did to pass the time
shows its entire harsh, unavoidable, and socially accepted truth. It’s good that Fat Mike has stayed alive and his suicidal thoughts did not turn into true, successful actions. What would the (punk rock) world be without Fat Mike?
