"New punk bands are needed in the country," is the headline on the information sheet of the East Frisian punk band THE EDUCATED BOURGEOISIE for their second (?) EP "The Violence Question." Yes, I agree with that!
The four Bürgis from the village impress me across the board. Their punk rock music features wonderfully pronounced digressions into metal and ska. The vocals sometimes drift into screaming, which I also enjoy.
Lyrically, everyone gets a punch in the face in the 5 ½ songs, from drunken football fans, who (travel) options regarding the physical protection of the outer border, nationalists + Gauland + the civil service, Tönnies + the meat/veggie fetishism, so the violence question is probably settled.
The 17-minute EP ends with the European anthem "Ode to Joy, uh, Fences."
As a bonus, last year's EP is also on the B-side of the tape, providing another 20 minutes of great THE EDUCATED BOURGEOISIE music!
It's just a shame that "The Violence Question" isn't available on LP/CD :-(
