In this fast-paced world we live in, many things that used to be considered good manners are becoming less and less common.

Who still remembers the good old sampler?

Who still knows small indie record labels that have been around for 20 years or longer?

The record label Red Scare from Chicago has been around for 20 years. This is quite a lot, especially for a label that has dedicated itself to punk rock in all its facets, in today's times.

However, Red Scare is not just releasing a label sampler as a soundtrack for the birthday party. No, this sampler is something very special.

On the sampler CD, which is also available digitally, 17 bands are represented, each with an unreleased song. There are even bands that have reunited specifically for this sampler.

So it is an exclusive and worthwhile compilation that the folks from Chicago have put together.

Among the bands featured are Nothington, The Menzingers, Elway, The Brokedowns, and Cobra Skulls.

It’s fun to listen to the sampler.

It’s a great cross-section of the Red Scare universe and makes me curious about one or another band, so I will be keeping my eyes and ears open.

So in short:

20 years of Red Scare, 17 bands, 17 songs, nearly 44 minutes of fun.
