I know Search & Destroy, but what is “Catch & Release“?
“Catch & Release“ is a term that comes from fishing. It refers to catching a fish and then releasing it. So, getting a picture taken with big fish, so that everyone thinks what a great catch you are. Does anyone think of the fish that got the hook and is struggling to breathe because it’s out of water?
For me, it’s just like trophy hunting. Quite pathetic when you have to resort to such means to boost your ego.
SCHRENG SCHRENG & LA LA have named their album this way and will unleash it on humanity on 29.08.25.

Each song could fall under a different heading.
The songs are sometimes funny, sometimes stirring, sometimes profound but not melancholic, and sometimes they form a kind of retrospective on life and actions.
The whole thing lyrically reminds one of Love A or Pascow. This is not surprising, as one of the two is Jörkk Mechenbier from SCHRENG SCHRENG & LA LA, who is the singer of the band Love A.
“Catch & Release“ is overall quite fun and entertaining. You can relate to the lyrics. The lines are not overly intellectual or cryptic, which makes the album very accessible.
Whether it all holds up live as Acoustic Punk for an hour or more is questionable, but possible.
