Finally, something heartwarming from Cologne again. The four guys from POVERTY JET SET play nine brilliant songs, never denying the raw and unrefined nature of rock. I can't really think of a direct comparison here. The vocals occasionally remind me of JELLO BIAFRA, and the melodies can be placed somewhere between FUGAZI, 28 COSTUMES, and PIXIES. But what impresses me the most is the honesty in the music of POVERTY JET SET. They mean it seriously here. I think there's a good piece of heart behind the music - because you can hear that very clearly. I hope to see the band live soon to get a better picture. Because this is more than good!
