RamTatTa - TODAY I WAIT – Already dead in their eyes CD

The fourth album by the Detroit hardcore band is out, and if my computer hadn't been acting up for so long, the review would have been online much sooner. This album is the first since 2003, so it's been 4 years. That's a period that is too long for some bands, during which signs of disbandment often appear. TODAY I WAIT have made use of the time and recorded 10 songs that sound very brutal and angry. From the first second, it blasts and roars from the speakers. It all sounds quite decent, albeit very testosterone-laden. Lyrically, the band is really good, whether it's about child soldiers or the "American Way of Life." Critical, factual, and extremely fast, they get straight to the point. The band makes no secret of the fact that a lot of things disgust them, and they would prefer to scream their anger into the face of every dull-witted guy.
Overall, however, all 10 songs fall into a swamp of mid-tempo growling paired with metal guitars at the latest by the middle of each song. This gets quite annoying over time. Good ideas can be heard, but all in all, it's an album that doesn't blow me away and certainly won't be in "Heavy Rotation" in my CD player.
