This record impresses even before listening with a stylish cover. The design looks as if a tired hippie on LSD got to beautify the digipack. A nice eye-catcher that makes one speculate about what ANARBOR might offer on this record. The seven songs on “Free your mind” provide more palatable fare than the cover might suggest. The four guys from Arizona deliver entertaining pop-punk in the American style. The sound is catchy, and the songs are solid for the genre. Vocals that truly deserve the name are paired with radio-friendly sound. No emo and no real punk, but rather music for today’s teenager who wants a bit of tempo and edge without having to engage with punk rock. With refined songwriting and a really very good recording, ANARBOR knows how to please. Since the band is still quite young, they could very well find success with this music in the coming years. Those who are too old for Good Charlotte should definitely check out ANARBOR.
