A DIY CD always leaves all possibilities open. This one answers all questions after the first two tracks.
COPILOT is a band from Enger, NRW, a four-man combo that has only been around since 2008. And in this short time, the gentlemen have put together some nice pieces.
According to the band info, they seek their comparisons with Pascow, Muff Potter, and Turbostaat. It's funny when, upon the first, second, and even third listen (yes, that many times in a row!!), completely different bands come to mind.
First and foremost, I think of the punk kids from Raketenhund, as both the music and the vocals remind me of them. Later on, I think of Oma Hans and in between, I keep thinking of the early beginnings of German punk, even during the times of NDW punk; of bands that have long, long been forgotten.
Lyrically, I'm also with Raketenhund, although now and then a certain pleasant radicality (but not a cliché), like with Slime, pops into my head.
Well done, guys.
The CD comes in a self-made cardboard sleeve and for 4.- you get 7 tracks in just under 20 minutes at www.myspace.com/copilotmusik.
Keep it up!
