Unexpect, an avant-garde metal band from Canada, has taken some years to present their new album, but it has truly been worth the wait. The band's third album is by far their best work. The sounds that greet you here are the personification of madness and incredibly complex in structure and arrangement. A mix of metal, jazz, avant-garde, and a bit of pop. This may sound extremely complicated, but after multiple listens, it isn't at all, as new facets continuously crystallize. The voice of the singer "Leilinde" alone is so variable and diverse that it is a true pleasure to listen to.
However, one must listen to the album several times, as it can happen that one loses acoustic orientation otherwise, but as mentioned, it is simply fantastic what can be expressed through music.
For fans of the eccentric, non-mainstream musical taste, this is a must; for everyone else, it is a challenge.
Open your ears and open your mind, here is the most outlandish album of the year 2011.
