When the last name Cavalera appears in a band bio, you know that the band will not be a boys' choir.
This also applies to the offspring, even if it is "only" a stepson, in this case Max Cavalera's stepson Richie. He founded INCITE back in 2004, but they quickly parted ways, only to reunite in 2007. Two years later, their first album "The Slaughter" hit the market, which brought INCITE only a small degree of recognition.
For the second album, INCITE has enlisted none other than Logan Mader as the music producer, or vice versa... As a guitarist, Logan Mader was already an authority when he played with MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY. In the meantime, he has specialized more in producing and has worked on the 2010 SOULFLY album "Omen" as well as with CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, DEVILDRIVER, and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Accordingly, the new INCITE album is also of the highest quality, metal – thrash. "All Out War" strongly reminds me of the thrashy songs by 5FDP. However, INCITE stretches their songs even more. On "All Out War", there is only one song under 3½ minutes, consequently, the 10 rhythmic songs hit you with what feels like 300 beats per minute for 42 minutes, leaving you overwhelmed in a good way! Richie Cavalera shouts out his songs as if it were his duty to tear apart the membranes of the speakers....
Despite listening to it dozens of times, Richie hasn't won me over yet. However, since I find the album fantastic, I will give him 100 more chances to do so!
The only downside is that I did not receive a booklet for "All Out War".
