RamTatTa - ONLY CRIME – pursuance

If I hadn't already awarded the Album of the Year 2014 to THE SAVANTS (see review from three weeks ago), ONLY CRIME with their third album "Pursuance" would confidently take the pole position. The five Californians, led by frontman Russ Rankin, who was already behind the microphone for GOOD RIDDANCE before they disbanded in 2007, have taken their time since then, producing 12 songs over 7 years. That's not much, especially since alongside Russ Rankin, there are also (ex-) members of the bands CONVERGE, GWAR, BLACK FLAG, DESCENDENTS, and ALL in ONLY CRIME, which certainly adds up to 100 years of stage and studio experience! And you can hear this on "Pursuance"; everything fits perfectly from the first second to the last, the thirtieth minute. This blend of melodic punk rock and explosive hardcore fits like a glove.
A must-buy! The CD is also on constant rotation in my car... Truly a delight to listen to... Also for the passengers... And the occupants in the cars in front and behind me, my car radio is turned up loud enough ;-)
And yet, I am terribly annoyed!!! ONLY CRIME is actually playing just around the corner in a few days (in the countryside, everything is smaller than 50 km => just around the corner), and during that week, I am at a seminar in the fashion city of Düsseldorf :-(
Nevertheless, "Pursuance" gets the full score, and ONLY CRIME secures the 2nd place on the 2014 chart list!
