When I first listened to the album, I thought I had been sent on a journey in a time capsule. The capsule catapulted me directly into a time where NDW meets experimental rock and radical avant-garde. The sound of the artist and squatter scene from the past.
“DR DREXLER project“ plays exactly this sound. Perhaps noisier than before and, due to current possibilities, also more powerful and captivating. This is a sound that does not ask for attention but demands it loudly. It is hardly possible to escape this sound that practically screams at you. So I surrender to it and listen to what the four men have to say.
Titles like “Neoliberal Crap“, “Green Capitalism“, “Facades Without Function“ or “Burnout“ already tell you what will be addressed in the lyrics.
While addressing is a good thing. The lyrics are brimming with anger, despair, and rejection of the system we live in. A system that is fundamentally anti-human at its core. But, isn’t man the enemy of man?
One person's joy is another's sorrow.
With whom do you want to live?
“Survival of the fittest“, but who will that be?
Who wins when no one is left?
Capitalism, neoliberalism, militarism, everyone against everyone, fear fueled by social media and confirmed by fake news.
“DR DREXLER project“ takes no prisoners and has such a massive force and anger in their music that it can sometimes be almost difficult to listen.
“Neoliberal Crap“ is raw, unrefined, pure... like I have rarely heard.
What a banger!
In addition to vinyl, the album is also available on cassette!
