BRIGATA VENDETTA, with a band name like that, one immediately thinks of the punk rock catalog that everyone draws from to utilize the well-known clichés and codes.
However, one must also begrudgingly acknowledge that it’s a great band name.
The trio from California consists of seasoned musicians Darrel Wojick and Mike Caputo (both from Harrington Saints) as well as Brian Zobel (Bum City Saints).
The band releases their debut album “This is how Democracy dies,” which is truly old school. The thirteen songs on the album do NOT break the punk rock sound barrier of two minutes in length. I haven't experienced that in a long time. In recent years, more and more bands have been working with intros, solos, and often many repeated choruses.
BRIGATA VENDETTA does none of that.
BRIGATA VENDETTA pounds out the thirteen songs full of rage. Rough, honest, and direct, old school hardcore punk hits you in the face here.
Man, it’s amazing that something like this still exists.... It’s fantastic, really refreshing.
Everyone who still knows what punk rock is should give BRIGATA VENDETTA a try.
